The present is the conjunction of the past and future and hence human suffering exists both in this instant and in the passage of time. This artwork shows the relationship between one’s presence, time and suffering through the invented confusing typography, “Roman Seal Type”. The arrangement of the typography stands for the passage of time. Through the frustrated attempt to read the typography, audiences experience the conscious and unconscious states of agony and confusion. The standing point locates one’s present; the view in front signifies the future and behind is the past, which exists only in one’s memory.
