I am interested in the process of translating the emotional into the physical. My work relates to the human response to traumatic experiences such as loss or grief. It involves a performative element through labour intensive repetition of gestures and mark-making such as burning or scorching wood. The marks act as a metaphor for mourning rituals, recording memory and cycles in life.

The idea of transmission is inherent to my practice in the form of learning traditional skills, but also in exploring bonds (or relationships) between human beings.
